My bridge bot is failing to bridge .opus files with the message Your message was not bridged: unsupported media type (audio/ogg in m.audio) . Is opus actually not supported? I remember sending the same file type via the bridge in the past. Increasing the logging level to debug reveals no additional information. | 14:21:16
ogg is only supported if ffmpeg is installed | 14:22:10
(dependencies are documented in the setup instructions https://docs.mau.fi/bridges/go/setup.html?bridge=signal) | 14:22:34
FFmpeg is definitely installed, I made sure of that after seeing that part of the docs. | 14:22:59
oh actually that only applies to voice messages, audio files won't be converted | 14:23:09
Oh, the last time I sent an audio file might have been via the python bridge. Maybe something changed in the switch to Go? | 14:23:50
in the past the bridge didn't check what it was sending, it just wouldn't work properly on native signal | 14:25:25
The audio files I sent back then were converted to voice messages and could be played in the native signal app. | 14:28:18
(I just scrolled back and checked) | 14:28:27

Hiya! :) I'm trying to set up a matrix-signal-bridge for a group chat (with a few people who only want to use signal and a few who only use matrix) but I'm entirely confused on what I need to do. Hopefully this the right place to ask for help - apologies if not! I managed to open a DM with the bot (@signalbot:tchncs.de) and connect it to my signal account. But I have no idea what to do next in order to connect the group chats. I've searched for documentation on it but couldn't really find anything. I also tried the "help" command on the bot but the descriptions are a bit vague, if one isn't already familiar with the lingo. It sounds like I might want "set-relay" but how do I specify which matrix room to connect to which signal-groupchat? And do I need to add the bot to both groups somehow? | 22:13:57

So, the signal Group did appear in Matrix by now. However I added a Matrix user to that Matrix group, who does not use Signal (and doesn't want to create a Signal account). And when they write a message on Matrix they get
and it never appears in Signal.

only room admins and bridge admins are allowed to use set-relay | 09:05:37
Like would it help if I become an admin of the signal group or what exactly is a "room admin" or "bridge admin"? Sorry for being a bit clueless, this is all new to me :) | 09:08:48
Our signal admin shows up as "moderator" in the matrix group, so I guess that's probably not it then | 09:09:36
How do I become a room admin? Or are you saying it's not possible? | 09:09:51
