In reply to @tulir:maunium.netNow it is clear and I understand the solution you are looking for | 22:20:01
actually looks like the public api might theoretically be advanced enough for basic bridging now, but it'd probably have to be approved by workspace admins (and might be limited to google workspace, not sure about that part) | 22:28:55
If the accounts are organization specific (other than gmail.com) maybe you have to have approval from space administrators? | 22:35:25

In reply to @tulir:maunium.netWell, I've been playing with those permissions and selecting the minimum necessary without touching about "spaces", it let me create an acces_token without problems. I even tested with an educational account :) | 23:00:11

I've been using this bridge successfully for over a year now --mainly to bridge a group chat I participate in over on the Google side. This chat is a "space" over on that side. Of course on the matrix side it is a room. I would like to be able to change the room image on the Matrix side. Currently there is no image as you can't have an image for a room on the Google side. Only an emoji. Still, I would think that if I had admin permission for the room on the matrix side that I would be able to add an image on that side. But only the googlechat bridge bot has admin rights. How would I go about granting myself admin rights on the Matrix side? Or is there some way that I can direct the googlechat bridge bot to add an image for the room? Thanks for creating such a useful bridge! I use it every day! 🙂 | 15:15:23
https://matrix-org.github.io/synapse/latest/admin_api/rooms.html#make-room-admin-api is probably the easiest way | 15:54:39
(in normal rooms there's the set-pl command, but that doesn't work in spaces because you don't have power level to send messages) | 15:54:56
Thanks! I'll check it out. 🙂 | 19:08:44
It worked! Thanks again! 🙂 | 21:27:16
